PENDER COUNTY – April 29th and 30th Pender County Public Library joins hundreds of libraries across the county celebrating Día, a nation-wide project of the Association for Library Service to Children.  Hampstead Library’s celebration takes place on April 29 from 10:00 am to 12:00. Activities are scheduled on April 30 from 11:00 am -12:00 and again from 5:00 – 6:00 pm in Burgaw.  All Día activities are free of charge.

Hampstead Breaking and Entering Suspect Caught

HAMPSTEAD - On Thursday April 23, 2015, a suspect was arrested for breaking and entering into numerous residences and motor vehicles in the Whitebridge Community area of Hampstead, North Carolina.  Jeffrey Amorin, a 31 year old white/male from Hampstead, NC was taken into custody and charged with the following crimes:

Topsail Area Kiwanis Announces 2015 Scholarship Opportunities

SURF CITY- The Kiwanis Club of Topsail Island Area, continuing its long standing commitment to the young people of Onslow and Pender counties, has available four scholarships in the amount of $3,000 each for graduating seniors at Dixon and Topsail High Schools. Two of the four scholarships have the requirement that the applicant be a member in good standing of the school’s Key Club.
