by Ken Clarke

PENDER COUNTY – A new year is upon us and the officials in Pender County have announced that they have recently mailed the 2013 Solid Waste stickers to all residents living in the unincorporated portions county who pay the solid waste fee.

“If you have not received yours, please call 910.259.1570, stop by the Pender County Utilities Office at 605 E. Fremont St., or stop by the Transfer Station Scale House in Hampstead,” states a release in the Pender Government News. “Effective Jan. 1, 2013, it will be mandatory for everyone to display a current sticker on the FRONT WINDSHIELD of your vehicle. It is necessary to display this sticker because not all residents of Pender County are eligible to utilize these sites and we need to know who is eligible.”

The new stickers will be good for two years through December 2014.
